Authentic Mid-Century Van Keppel-Green (VKG) Lounge Chair
Designed by the legendary partnership of Hendrik Van Keppel and Taylor Green, this VKG lounge chair represents an important chapter in the history of American modern design. Founded in California during the mid-century era, Van Keppel-Green became renowned for creating furniture that balanced industrial efficiency with casual sophistication, helping define the emerging indoor-outdoor lifestyle that would influence generations of designers.
This lounge chair features the clean structural lines and open-frame construction that made VKG furniture highly sought after by architects, designers, and collectors alike. Paired with woven vinyl cording, the design achieves a distinctive balance of comfort, durability, and visual lightness. The frame remains structurally sound and is offered through CFR Patio's factory as a custom restoration opportunity. Professional powder coat refinishing and new vinyl cording replacement are available in your selected colors to restore both appearance and long-term outdoor performance.
Original Van Keppel-Green furnishings remain highly collectible today due to their historical significance and lasting influence on California modernism. As one of the most recognized names in mid-century outdoor furniture, VKG continues to attract collectors seeking authentic examples of early American modern design.
